Celebrate Educator Appreciation Month with FREE ADMISSION for all school and library staff at the Detroit Historical Museum and Dossin Great Lakes Museum during the month of August!
Educators of all levels, school employees, and library staff members are invited to show their School ID at the front desk and receive complimentary admission on the day of their visit.

Signal-Return
On sale now!
Go behind the scenes at Signal Return, a working letterpress studio dedicated to teaching, creating, and producing, as well as a retail store stocked primarily with the work of Michigan-based artists.
This three-hour experience will include a guided tour of the print studio including information about the presses, their type collection, and how the presses work, plus a typesetting and printing demo. Each participant will get to take home a printed piece!

Film Screening: Honour Before Glory
Honour Before Glory is an award-winning docudrama film about the No. 2 Construction Battalion, Canada’s one and only all-Black battalion that was formed during the First World War. The film was produced and directed by award-winning Canadian filmmaker, Anthony Sherwood. During their service in France, this all-Black battalion had to endure cruel racism while serving in the Canadian Army.

The Turkel House
SOLD OUT!
Architect Frank Lloyd Wright coined the term “Usonian” to describe the style of the Dorothy G. Turkel House, characterized by a modest size, L-shape, use of native materials, and cantilevered overhangs. Located in the Palmer Woods Historic District, the 1957 home has been thoughtfully restored by current owners Norman Silk and Dale Morgan. Be sure to enjoy its lovely gardens!

To celebrate the new exhibition Kresge at 100, museum admission will be free on the second Sunday of the month through January 2025, courtesy of the Kresge Foundation.
