2018 Michigan History Day District 10 Contest

March 3 2018 | 9:00am to March 4 2018 | 1:55pm

Michigan History Day, an affiliate of National History Day sponsored by the Historical Society of Michigan, is a year-long educational program where students in grades 4-12 pick a historic topic related to an annual theme, conduct original research using primary and secondary sources, analyze their findings and draw conclusions about their topics significance in history and create final projects to showcase their work. On Saturday, March 3 the District 10 contest will be held at the Detroit Historical Museum

Friends and family are welcome to attend with participating students. Judging for exhibits, websites and papers is closed to the public, which means families and friends are not allowed to be present during students judging times. Documentary and performance judging is open to the public, as long as the audience is quiet and respectful of the students who are being judged.

The tentative schedule for the day is as follows:

9 – 9:50 am: Registration and Exhibit Set-up

10 am – 12:30 pm: Project Judging

12:30 – 2 pm: Lunch Break and Public Viewing of Exhibits, Papers and Website Entries

2 pm: Awards and Closing Ceremonies
