On the Shoulders of Giants: Celebrating Black History Month

Join us for an in-person, all ages celebration honoring the legacy of entrepreneurship in the Black community!
This year's On the Shoulders of Giants event will highlight The Hustle, our community-driven initiative to honor Black Detroit entrepreneurs. Join us for a day full of activities, including:
1 p.m. Join Alison Vaughn, Founder and CEO of Jackets for Jobs and one of our Hustle honorees, for a conversation about helping Detroiters find employment during the pandemic and beyond.
2 p.m. Watch a contemporary jazz performance by The Al Bettis Trio
All day: Shop our vendor marketplace, featuring many of our Hustle honorees and other distinguished Detroit businesses, with a space for children to get creative and design their own storefront. Take guided mini-tours of Detroit 67: Perspectives and visit The Hustle: Fixers & Helpers and Caregivers to learn more about Detroit business owners who are keeping their communities heathy and happy.
