Heroes vs. Villains - Members-Only Reception

Members get in first! Join us from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to celebrate the opening day of Heroes vs. Villains: Detroit's Comic Book Story! 

Discover Detroit’s contribution to the world of comic books and the generations of local creatives and fans that brought the world of comics to a wider audience and created fandom as we know it today. Find it on the lower level in Wrigley Hall.

Heroes vs. Villains Opening Day

Join us to celebrate the opening day of Heroes vs. Villains: Detroit's Comic Book Story! Discover Detroit’s contribution to the world of comic books and the generations of local creatives and fans that brought the world of comics to a wider audience and created fandom as we know it today. 

The exhibition is included with museum admission and opens to the public at noon. Find it on the lower level in Wrigley Hall.

Historic Houses of Worship Tour

10:00am to 3:00pm

On sale now!

Visit a series of houses of worship in the city, transported between sites on a comfortable bus. Ticket cost includes the bus, a boxed lunch and bottled water at one of the stops, and a donation to each of the destinations.

Planned Itinerary:  Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Old Saint Mary's Catholic Church, Holy Family Catholic Church

Homeschool Day

Ages 6+

Families are invited to join us for a group tour of the museum, featuring our Origins: Life Where the River Bends, America's Motor City and Streets of Old Detroit exhibitions. After the tour, participants are welcome to stay and explore the rest of the galleries.

$6 per child, one free chaperone, $8 additional chaperones (includes admission and programming)

Penny Wells - Jazz in the Streets of Old Detroit

Penny Wells, a Detroit native, is a versatile vocalist whose musical journey spans jazz, classical, R&B, and gospel, culminating in a sultry and sophisticated sound that has become her signature. Over her 35-year career, Penny has drawn comparisons to fellow Detroit legends Anita Baker and Gladys Knight. Her dynamic stage presence and vocal prowess have earned her accolades, including being named Outstanding Gospel/Christian Vocalist by the Detroit Music Awards and Outstanding Jazz Vocalist by the Detroit Black Music Awards.

His Michigan Emmy award-winning public access TV show empowers children to be lifelong learners. We’ll learn about the “hustle” of Mr. E’s entrepreneurship and his contributions to educating Detroit kids.
