10 Years Back, 10 Years Forward: Black Bottom Archives Opening Day
February 8 2025 | 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Join us to celebrate the opening day of 10 Years Back, 10 Years Forward: Black Bottom Archives in Center Stage in the Allesee Gallery of Culture.
This dynamic exhibit will highlight BBA's evolution—from a grassroots Tumblr page in 2015 to a thriving living archive for intergenerational storytelling. Explore zines, oral histories, podcasts, photos, and interactive displays that celebrate Black Detroit's past, present, and future.
The opening will feature a panel discussion at 2 p.m. with BBA supporters, including Baba Jamon Jordan, official City of Detroit Historian, Camille Johnson, one of the founding members of BBA, and Shanel Adams a long-time supporter and collaborator.
Light refreshments will be served. Free with museum admission.
