J. W. Westcott Boat

Known for delivering mail and supplies to ships on the Detroit River, the J.W. Westcott Co. was founded in 1874. See the vessel that serves as an official USPS mailboat and its own “floating zipcode.”

*We will not travel on the water or leave the dock on this tour. The majority of the tour will take place off the boat.

Detroit Riverwalk

9:00am to 11:00am

Opened in 2007, the Detroit Riverwalk project transformed an industrial shoreline into a lively and thriving promenade with shops, restaurants, events, pedestrians, and even a State Park.

*This tour will be exclusively on foot; please wear comfortable shoes, sun protection, and bring water.

Detroit People Mover Art

A painting, tile mural, Venetian glass mosaic, cast bronze sculpture, and Detroit’s own Pewabic Pottery tiles—these are just a few of the works of art you’ll see on this journey through the 13 stops on the People Mover. We’ll get on and off at the stations to discuss the art with a knowledgeable guide.

Belle Isle Bike Tour

Get your bikes out of the garage for this fun tour of Belle Isle! Tayna Stephens, who serves on the Board of Directors for Preservation Detroit, will lead a public art exploration of the island.

*Please note, you’ll need to use your own bike or rent one to bring. Wear comfortable clothing/shoes, a helmet, sun protection, and bring water.
