Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Month with FREE ADMISSION at the Detroit Historical Museum and Dossin Great Lakes Museum during the month of August!

Teachers of all levels and school staff members are invited to show their School ID at the front desk and receive complimentary admission on the day of their visit.

Celebrate Detroit's French Canadian history at the annual Rendez-vous Detroit gathering, taking place this year at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum!

Step back into time to experience Detroit as it was in the days of Cadillac, through indoor and outdoor exhibits, artifacts and activities, including live French Canadian music and dance, historical re-enactors bringing 18th century Detroit to life, children's crafts and games, storytelling and an 18th century fashion show.

Built in 1930, Hamtramck Stadium was home to the Detroit Stars, the city's Negro League baseball team. Today, the stadium has been restored as one of 12 remaining Negro League stadiums and hosts games for youth and the community. Join the Friends of Hamtramck Stadium as they guide you through the history, triumphs, and people that made this an important part of Detroit's history.

Known for bringing pilots, mail and food to ships traveling on the Detroit River, the JW Westcott Company has served boats from around the country since 1874. As one of Detroit's oldest family-owned companies, JW Westcott has many stories of operating the waters on the Detroit/Canada border. Join us for a tour of their facilities and a chance to step aboard their two carrier boats, which will remain docked during our visit.

Detroit’s Cultural Center is home to an array of sculptures, murals and statues, big and small. Join our walking tour to explore more than 30 works and learn about the artists who created them. Highlights include the Josephine Ford Sculpture Garden and the McGregor Memorial Conference Center Sculpture Court.
