Michigan History Day®, is a year-long educational program of the Historical Society of Michigan that encourages students to explore local, state, national and world history. Winners of the state level Michigan History Day competition in the Junior and Senior categories move on to compete in National History Day in College Park, Maryland.

Detroit Historical Society is proud to revive this well-loved program, where guests will visit a series of houses of worship in the city (or beyond!), transported between sites on a comfortable bus. The ticket cost includes the bus, a boxed lunch and bottled water at one of the stops, and a donation to each of the destinations.

Planned Itinerary: Church of the Messiah Episcopal Church, Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Cathedral.

After attending College for Creative Studies, Sherrie Savage founded her first company, released an adult coloring book, and went on to found Naturally ILLustrated X The Coloring Museum, bringing coloring and art to the city and improving people’s mental health.

Savage will speak about her “Hustle” as a small business owner while guiding participants in a watercolor painting activity at the Detroit Historical Museum.

This Cass Corridor hotspot, closed in 1978, has been revived to its mid-century “Show Bar” era. Tour the Art Moderne space with its unique main stage and floorplan designed to capture the attention of every seat in the house. The tour will be followed by a classic cocktail and a live performance.
