The Detroit Historical Society is delighted to announce that this year’s Annual Society Ball will be held at Detroit’s Masonic Temple on Saturday, December 6, 2014. Each year, the Society takes great care in selecting a location that is unprecedented, local to Detroit, and rooted in our region’s rich history. This year is no exception as we prepare for our premier fundraising event in the heart of Detroit. With over 1,000 rooms the Detroit Masonic Temple is the largest building of its kind in the world. Designed by architect George D. Mason, the Masonic Temple was built in the neo-gothic style. In 1922, the cornerstone of the building was laid by the same tools George Washington used to lay the cornerstone for the National Capitol. Come experience the opulence of the Masonic Temple’s Fountain Ballroom with an evening of fine company, dining and entertainment in a magnificent and historic setting as we celebrate another successful year of the Detroit Historical Society.

This year’s Ball co-chairs are Jill Johnson of Detroit, Stephanie Nicholson of Grosse Pointe, and Pam Wyett of Bloomfield Hills.
