AMM Groundbreakers Award Virtual Celebration: The Hustle

The Detroit Historical Society’s The Hustle: Celebrating Detroit’s Unsung Entrepreneurs has been awarded the 2024 Groundbreakers Award by the Association of Midwest Museums (AMM). Join us for a virtual celebration of this award featuring reflections from Detroit Historical Society staff who championed and created the initiative, comments by Hustle honoree Mr. E in the D, and an opportunity for questions from the audience.
The AMM Groundbreakers Award recognizes museums or cultural organizations who have pushed past boundaries, broken conventions, addressed uncomfortable truths about their institution’s histories and connection to oppressive systems and structures, and/or creatively engaged collaborative partners to affect change in the pursuit of a better, more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable future. The Award was presented in a ceremony in Ohio in August 2024.
