SOLD OUT!
Architect Louis Kamper’s first major commission in 1889, this French chateau-like structure at the corner of Woodward and Ferry Street was Col. Frank J. Hecker’s home, a boarding house, the headquarters for Smiley Music Co., and then housed Charfoos & Christensen, P.C., who restored it in the 1990s. Now part of Wayne State University, it has been rechristened the Tierney Alumni House and is rarely open for tours.
