Black Baseball Book Talk: Jay Caldwell and Vanessa Ivy Rose

Vanessa Ivy Rose, Detroit Stars player Turkey Stearnes' granddaughter and author of Hall of Fame DNA: The Legacy of Norman "Turkey" Stearnes and Jay Caldwell, author of Black Baseball in Living Color: The Artwork of Graig Kreindler will join artist Graig Kreindler, Friends of Historic Hamtramck Stadium founder Gary Gillette, and Detroit Stars player Turkey Stearnes' daughter Joyce Stearnes Thompson in a discussion celebrating Black Baseball in Living Color, an exhibition of 237 individual portraits of Black baseball players from 1867–1954, interpreted through the paintbrush of artist Graig Kreindler. See the exhibition on display at the Detroit Historical Museum through September 24.
