The book Detroit City of Champions, by Charles Avison, explores the remarkable series of events which took place in 1935-36, chronicling the rise of Joe Louis and three major sports championships as well as 30 minor sports championships during the same season!
Charles Avison, author of the Detroit City of Champions trilogy, joins Jamie Flanagan, veteran Detroit radio host, to discuss Avison's books, and their shared podcast of the same name, which explores the City of Champions story.
A pop-up exhibit will also be on display!
