African American History Day

Join in the celebration of African American history and culture as we kick off Black History Month with this annual free event Saturday, February 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Detroit Historical Museum.
Find a variety of gifts or pamper yourself with items from our Artists Market throughout the Museum. Learn from many of the historical organizations in the area, including the Tuskegee Airmen and neighborhood groups, as well as representatives from the Greening of Detroit as they share their vision for Alfonso B. Wells Park and its portion of the Birwood Wall. Kids will enjoy renowned storyteller Ivory D. Williams, a caricature artist and All in One Art.

In addition, refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the event.
