Thirty-Five | 20

NOW OPEN through July 28, 2024 on the second level in the City of Champions Gallery

Thirty-Five | 20 celebrates the determination and triumph of the “Detroit Bad Boys” and the “Goin’ to Work” Pistons teams. Separated by 15 years, these two championship squads shared a pleasure in mucking up the league’s pretty offenses, and fans were thrilled by their hustle. This dual anniversary exhibition highlights how each team was assembled and how they developed their signature styles of play.

With surprising significant and suprising artifacts from the Detroit Pistons and Detroit Historical Society collections, Thirty-Five | 20 chronicles Detroit’s march to the top in two different eras. See the '89 and '04 chamionship banners, trophies, rings, and a selection of game-worn shoes and equipment from Pistons greats, including Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman, and John Salley. Pose with cutouts of Pistons stars Isiah Thomas and Tayshaun Prince and compare your height to power forward Ben Wallace - who stands at 6'9". See fan memorabilia from both seasons, listen to game audio, and watch highlight images in our multimedia display.

NBA players make the super-human athleticism it takes to play in the league look effortless. Explore the significance of these two Pistons teams and their all-star players in this new exhibition.
