Celebrate Educator Appreciation Month with FREE ADMISSION for all school and library staff at the Detroit Historical Museum and Dossin Great Lakes Museum during the month of August!

Educators of all levels, school employees, and library staff members are invited to show their School ID at the front desk and receive complimentary admission on the day of their visit.

Admission to the Detroit Historical Museum is free from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, courtesy of the William Davidson Foundation!

No advance registration is necessary.

Honour Before Glory is an award-winning docudrama film about the No. 2 Construction Battalion, Canada’s one and only all-Black battalion that was formed during the First World War. The film was produced and directed by award-winning Canadian filmmaker, Anthony Sherwood. During their service in France, this all-Black battalion had to endure cruel racism while serving in the Canadian Army.

To celebrate the new exhibition Kresge at 100, museum admission will be free on the second Sunday of the month through January 2025, courtesy of the Kresge Foundation.

Join us for Member Night at the Museum and take advantage of an exclusive opportunity to explore the Detroit Historical Museum. You and your guest can also partake in sports-themed trivia (with fun prizes) and Detroit-themed snacks. This event is appropriate for all ages!  

Celebrate the opening of Detroit Lions: Gridiron Heroes with a Lions collectible giveaway, light refreshments, free coloring pages in the Allesee Gallery of Culture, and discounts on vintage Lions merchandise in the museum store!
