East Jefferson Residential Historic District

The East Jefferson Residential Historic District is located on East Jefferson between downtown Detroit and Waterworks Park. It is composed of sixteen single family and multi-unit residential buildings.

The buildings were constructed from the mid 1800s through the 1930s and they range in size from a two story house to a fourteen story apartment building. This district includes some of Detroit’s earliest and most magnificent apartment buildings including the Pasadena, Alden Park Towers, Indian Village Manor, Detroit Towers, and the Kean. Many different architectural styles can be seen within the district including Romanesque, Tudor Revival, Colonial and Spanish Eclectic.
