- Christopher T. George is a medical editor, historian and freelance writer. He is the author of Terror on the Chesapeake: The War of 1812 on the Bay and editor of The Journal of the War of 1812.
- Major John R. Grodzinski is professor of History at the Royal Military College of Canada and author of The War of 1812: An Annotated Bibliography. He was also the Managing Editor of The Army Doctrine and Training Bulletin (now the Canadian Army Journal)
- Donald R. Hickey, a history professor at Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska is author of several books and many articles including The War of 1812: A Forgotten Conflict (Bicentennial edition, 2012), Winner of the American Military Institute’s Best Book Award.
- Jeff Seiken is an Air Force historian whose War of 1812 publications include: “Thomas Jefferson and the Tripolitan War, 1801-1805”, “The United States and the Contest for Lakes Erie and Ontario, 1812-1815" in The 60 Years' War for the Great Lakes, 1754-1814 (2001), and the essay "American Naval Operations and Options at the Start of the War of 1812."
- Gene Smith is a professor of history at Texas Christian University and curator of history at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. His newest book is The Slaves’ Gamble: Choosing Sides in the War of 1812.
