From the CEO: September 2022

Dear Friends,

As the seasons start to change, we're sorry to see summer go, but excited about all the Fall fun coming up in our museums! Be sure to take advantage of free admission at both of our museums on Grandparents Day, Sunday, September 11. We’ll have family activities for everyone to enjoy, along with temporary exhibitions you don’t want to miss! Make sure to see Come Out, In Detroit! (closing September 11) and Detroit Fine Arts Breakfast Club (closing October 9) at the Detroit Historical Museum and Maritime Miniatures – in its final days as a museum-wide display – at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum.

We’re also looking forward to a special, one-day auto show at the Detroit Historical Museum coming up on Sunday, September 18 to coincide with the 2022 Concours d’Elegance at the Detroit Institute of Arts and the return of the North American International Auto Show. Enjoy extended hours (from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), see our automotive exhibitions and check out vintage cars from local owners - with free admission all day!
