30th Annual Conference of the Association for Great Lakes Maritime History

The Detroit Historical Society and the Dossin Great Lakes Museum are proud to host the 30th Annual Conference of the Association for Great Lakes Maritime History (AGLMH) in September 2014. The public is welcome to attend conference sessions on Saturday, September 13. These five sessions will include premiere presentations on recent developments in Great Lakes history. 

Bringing the best of Great Lakes History to Belle Isle for one day only!

  • AGLMH is the premier organization for Great Lakes researchers and museums.
  • Conference features professional historians from all over the Great Lakes region.
  • Presentations are diverse, including: Underwater Archaeology in Detroit River, Maritime eResearch, War of 1812 in Music, and the Centennial of the Eastland Disaster (no, not the shopping center).

The AHLMH was created to coordinate information sharing among museums and historic sites, archival collections, researchers, divers and maritime enthusiasts. The Dossin Great Lakes Museum has been a sponsoring institutional member of the association since its founding, and has hosted two previous annual conferences.
