Tour the historic theater, currently under renovation, and learn about its evolution from a neighborhood cinema to a venue for live performances, a brief stint as a “blood and gore” B-movie house, and its current era under the stewarship of Friends of the Alger Theater.

Please note: the building is under heavy construction and is not ADA-accessible. This will be a hard-hat tour; wear closed toe shoes and casual clothing. Guests must be able to traverse uneven ground and stairs.
