From the CEO: Holiday 2022

Dear Friends,

Happy Holidays from the Detroit Historical Society! As usual, we have a ton of exhibits, activities and events for the whole family. Plan to visit us this month for:

• The all-new Hudson’s Holidays exhibit in the Detroit Historical Museum’s Motor City Music gallery, through December 30

Noel Night: Live performances in America’s Motor City and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus in the Streets of Old Detroit (free admission) on December 3.

• Free Holiday Sundays at the Detroit Historical Museum and Dossin Great Lakes Museum (free admission) on December 4, 11, and 18

• Live Theater in the Booth Auditorium: All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 on December 9

Dinner and a Movie: Special screening of Christmas at the Holly Hotel, benefitting the Holly Hotel and the Streets of Old Detroit on December 16

Matinee screening: Christmas at the Holly Hotel on December 18

• Special Holiday Week Hours at the Detroit Historical Museum and Dossin Great Lakes Museum on December 28, 29, and 30.

We’re also kicking off the holiday season with discounts in our online store. Look for special discounts all month long and order by December 18 for delivery by the 25th.

Finally, this month kicks of the end-of-year giving season, and we’d be thrilled to receive your support. Last year, our education team welcomed more than 10,000 students back to the museum after a pause during the pandemic. Did you know that a gift of just $6 covers one child’s field trip admission? Give a gift in any amount, anytime.

Be well,

Elana Rugh
