Postponed - Third Thursday Speaker Series: Jessica Care Moore

March 19 2020 | 6:00pm to 8:00pm

After much consideration and in alignment with the requests of our governor, the Detroit Historical Museum is postponing this event. Please watch for a rescheduled date. Click here for more information about our Coronavirus response.

The Detroit Historical Museum is pleased to present an evening with a true Detroit original, jessica Care moore, to celebrate Women's History Month and the launch of her new title, "We Want Our Bodies Back."  The 2018 Kresge Artist and 2019 Knight Challenge winner will read from her latest collection of poems as well as a few older favorites and engage in a one-on-one conversation with Malika Pryor, Detroit Historical Society Senior Director fo Education and Programs, about her journey and what the future holds for Detroit creatives.

Following the reading and discussion, participants will have an opportunity to engage with jessica about the process of creating and writing.

Free with general admission but pre-registration is encouraged, as space is limited for this popular series. To register for a presentation, please contact us at 313.833.1801.

Are you a resident of Detroit, Hamtramck or Highland Park? Remember to sign up for our new Detroiter membership to receive free admission to the museum.
