Antique Outboard Motor Club Meet

July 24 2021 | 9:00am to 1:00pm

A century ago, pleasure boating was a sport of the wealthy. The outboard motor went a long way toward democratizing the sport by turning a rowboat into a motorboat for a modest investment. This event brings together antique outboard motor enthusiasts from Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario, allowing guests to the Dossin Great Lakes Museum to learn about this fascinating aspect of recreational maritime history. Included will be engines from Detroit manufacturers Waterman (first commercially successful outboard) and Caille.

Produced in partnership with the Great Lakes Chapter of the Antique Outboard Motor Club, Inc.
