Antique Outboard Motor Club Meet
A century ago, pleasure boating was a sport of the wealthy. The outboard motor went a long way toward democratizing the sport by turning a rowboat into a motorboat for a modest investment. This event brings together antique outboard motor enthusiasts from Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario, allowing guests to the Dossin Great Lakes Museum to learn about this fascinating aspect of recreational maritime history. Included will be engines from Detroit manufacturers Waterman (first commercially successful outboard) and Caille.

Detroit's Birthday Celebration
Join us for a doubleheader that could only happen at the Detroit Historical Museum!
Celebrate Detroit's 320th birthday on July 24 along with '68 Tigers legend Mickey Lolich, as his hand prints are unveiled on the museum's Legends Plaza.
Meet the baseball great, join in a Q&A, enjoy some birthday and baseball-themed treats, play Tigers trivia and more. Tigers mascot Paws will be on-hand from 1-2:30 p.m. to welcome guests and take photos!
This outdoor event is free with registration.
