Negro Leagues Film Festival: Only the Ball Was White

The Negro League Film Festival will bring life to the history of the teams and legendary players who played America’s pastime during segregation when blacks were banned from playing in the Major Leagues. Admission is free!

This short documentary is narrated by actor Paul Winfield. Baseball legends Satchel Paige, Roy Campanella, Buck Leonard and others are interviewed about their experiences playing in the Negro Leagues.

Spring Film Series: Sundew, Life Aboard a US Coast Guard Cutter

Step aboard and experience life as it once was on a 180 ft. U.S. Coast Guard Cutter, filmed aboard the U.S.C.G. Sundew during ice breaking, buoy tending and lighthouse maintenance. Don Hermanson was invited aboard the Sundew to film an “Aids to Navigation” mission along Lake Superior’s North Shore from Duluth to Isle Royale National Park. He was able to experience the buoy-tending operation, visit the remote lighthouses on Isle Royale, and join the crew as they did their service work.

He was able to experience the buoy-tending operation, visit the remote lighthouses on Isle Royale, and join the crew as they did their service work.

The mysteries and memories of baseball’s greatest heroes are revealed in Fastball, as it features interviews with dozens of former players, from legendary Hall-of-Famers to up-and-coming All-Stars, including Hank Aaron, Nolan Ryan, and Derek Jeter, with narration by Kevin Costner.
