Time Travel Storytelling:

A Unique One-Day Experience Hosted by Aadizookaan & Detroit Historical Society

Join the Indigenous storytelling project MAWADISIDIWIG and the Detroit Historical Society for a special workshop led by Aadizookaan founder Sacramento Knoxx & Team where we will explore the question:

What does an equitable, community-driven future in Detroit look like?

This program will explore "Indigenous Futurism" with a small group of community members to produce an alternative narrative which will imagine how Detroit would be shaped differently through this framework.

Participants will:

- learn and explore the tales and history of Waawiiyatanong (also known as Detroit)
- have the unique opportunity to co-create digital art and audio recordings for creative storytelling
- collaborate in developing a revised history of the region and envision a more just and equitable future through narrative

This is a FREE event, but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE. Space is limited. Lunch provided.
