Summer Film Series: A Voyage Into History

September 14 2019 | 2:00pm to September 15 2019 | 2:55pm

“A Voyage Into History” captures the 2009 season of underwater exploration and research aboard the Great Lakes research/training vessel Pride of Michigan. Sit in on the NAS (Nautical Archaeological Society) training in Underwater Archaeology. Dive into a newly discovered Drowned Forest in Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary, investigate a submerged cave site off Mackinac Island and locate a long-lost dredge bare in this film. The Noble Odyssey Foundation brings to light knowledge of the Great Lakes through seagoing education and research projects. The professional staff of NOF, headed by Capt. Luke Clyburn, accomplishes this by bringing together scientists, educators and young Sea Cadets (ages 11-17) to conduct underwater projects on board the Foundation’s 80-ft. vessel, Pride of Michigan.

Running time: 25 minutes. Shown at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum. Admission is FREE.
