Summer Film Series: Superior Lights on the Shipwreck Coast

August 11 2019 | 2:00pm to August 12 2019 | 2:55pm

In 1877, the U.S. Life-Saving Service opened four life-saving stations along a coast, often called the “Graveyard of the Great Lakes.” Stations were opened at Vermillion Point, Crisp Point, Big Two Hearted River and Sucker River/Deer Park. More shipwrecks occurred along this stretch of coastline than anywhere else on Lake Superior.

Admission is FREE. Shown at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum. Running time: 58 minutes.
