Join us to celebrate a legendary Detroiter, Allee Willis, as we pay tribute to her life, work and love of her hometown. Born and raised in Detroit, she graduated from Mumford High School in 1965 before becoming a multi-talented artist. She is best known for songwriting, such as “I’ll Be There For You,” by the Rembrandts and co-writing “September” for Earth, Wind and Fire, and was inducted into the Song Writers Hall of Fame in 2019. Winning numerous awards, her songs have sold an estimated 60 million records. Dance along to some of her most popular hits as you learn about her amazing career in the Motor City Music Exhibition.
