11a.m. In concert with this year’s theme, “Women in Media: Trailblazers & Influencers,” the program will feature a lecture on women journalists in Michigan history by Dr. Caitlyn Dial, Executive Director of the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame.

1 p.m. Media mavens from across Detroit’s news and media platforms - including Anne Doyle, Robin Kinnie, Sarah Rahal, Karen Hudson Samuels and Heather Catallo - will join us for a special panel discussion on “The Politics of Women in News & Media.”

Throughout the day, family-friendly programming will include arts and crafts activities, a “Women in Detroit History” scavenger hunt, film screenings, and self-guided tours of our exhibits. Come celebrate Women’s History Month at the Detroit Historical Society—this is an event you don’t want to miss!
