Postponed - WWII 75: V-E Day Commemoration

Join us for the kick-off of Victory Summer as the Detroit Historical Society commemorates the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe.

This event will include the return of the Wayne State University Swing Dancers, musical performances by the Big Band Theory featuring the ABC Sisters, two special presentations of the award-winning film, Detroit: Our Greatest Generation, plus drop-in tours, crafts, and so much more. 

10:30 am and 12:30 pm Detroit: Our Greatest Generation screenings

10:30 am and 1 pm Big Band Theory performances

11 am and 1 pm Free "Memories and Moments" guided tours of Detroit's 20th century history (meet in front of the museum store)

2:30 pm Ration cooking demonstration

Throughout the day Roving Rosie the Riveters and Double V for Victory Campaign crafts
