The Black Historic Sites Committee invites you to attend an evening of extraordinary jazz with Shahida Nurullah!
Shahida is a native Detroiter and a vibrant vocalist known for her versatility. Her repertoire includes blues, jazz and much more. Her voice has been compared to those of Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday, but it is uniquely her own - full of soul and matchless phrasing. Steeped in the jazz tradition and legacy that Detroit has bred and continues to nurture, Shahida has appeared at multiple Detroit Jazz Festivals and has performed with Geri Allen, Kenny Cox, Donald Walden, Teddy Harris, Marcus Belgrave and others.
