MLK, Jr. "Bring the Dream to Life"

Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on MLK Day with “Bring the Dream to Life” at the Detroit Historical Museum, hosted by the Black Historic Sites Committee. This annual program will feature fun and engaging activities including:

10:00 a.m.— 4:00 p.m. — Make Your Own Martin Luther King Jr. Coloring and Activity Book, “Planning a Dinner with Dr. King” activity, Trivia Questions, Essay Readings and contribute to the Four Freedoms Community Quilt!

12:30-1:30 p.m. —Local historian Jamon Jordan will do a presentation titled “Martin in Motown: Five Visits of Dr. Martin Luther King JR. to Detroit —Their Purpose & Legacy.”

2:00 to 2:15 p.m. — Performance by The Freedom Players from the Black Theater and Dance Program at Wayne State University

2:30 to 3:00 pm. — Performance by Nanou Djiapo African Drum and Dance

3:30p.m. — Cupcakes and singing of Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday” and “We Shall Overcome!”
