Holiday Weekend

December 27 2019 | 12:00pm to December 28 2019 | 2:55pm

Discover! Engage! Enjoy! Join us at the Detroit Historical Museum as we explore the rich traditions of the holiday season beyond the wonder of Christmas. Learn more about Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Three Kings Day from your neighbors who celebrate these traditions. Descriptions, discussions and discovery with crafts are sure to make fun filled afternoons for the entire family!

December 27 features Kwanzaa

Learn its history and significance to the African American community and why more than 50 years later, it is as important as ever. Dr. Mayowa Reynolds will discuss the holiday tradition and Nanou Djiapo will accompany this wonderful presentation with a "drum talk."

Activities are free with general admission
