Family Pictures: USA Photo Sharing Event

June 17 2017 | 10:00am to June 18 2017 | 1:55pm

What’s your Detroit story?

As part of a new television series being filmed for PBS’s WORLD Channel, Family Pictures: USA will be in Detroit during June and July in partnership with the Detroit 67: Looking Back to Move Forward project. Join us at the Detroit Historical Museum on Saturday, June 17 from 10 am to 2 pm for their first public photo sharing event.

Guests are asked to bring a selection of a dozen of their favorite photographs – digital or printed photos – and spend 10-15 minutes with the Family Pictures: USA Production Team telling their Detroit story. Producers are looking for each guest’s take on the Motor City, its past, present and future, as seen through the lens of the family photo album. Photos will be digitized and added to the larger Digital Diaspora Family Reunion archive.

Sessions are first come, first serve and RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Interview spots will be limited the first 30 participants. Individuals, couples, families (by birth and by choice) and friends are all welcome.

To make a reservation for Saturday, June 17:

• Email 1World1Family.me@gmail.com and mention “My Detroit Story” in the subject line.
• Call (212) 281-6002 and ask for “Detroit Desk”

Stay tuned for more collection days at additional area venues.
