Michigan History Day

9:00am to 5:00pm

Michigan History Day®, is a year-long educational program of the Historical Society of Michigan that encourages students to explore local, state, national and world history. Winners of the state level Michigan History Day competition in the Junior and Senior categories move on to compete in National History Day in College Park, Maryland.

Join us for a virtual conversation exploring how women have created community through advocacy, healing and hope throughout history for Women's History Month 2022.

Tune in for a virtual one-on-one with owner and blogger of "Cooking with Que," Quiana Broden, centering the critical ways in which the presence of women as trained and lived experts have shaped their communities. Moderated by the Society's Manager of Education and Public Programs, Kimmie Dobos Wolfe.

Celebrate Women's History Month with a talk by Jean Alicia Elster, author of How it Happenson her new book and how she creates historical fiction from her own family history. Books will be available for purchase in the Detroit Historical Museum Store.
