Typeface

September 27 2014 | 1:00pm to September 28 2014 | 1:55pm

Running Time: 60 minutes

“Typeface” explores the twilight of an analog craft that is freshly inspiring artists in the digital age.  The Hamilton Wood Type Museum in Two Rivers, Winsconsin personifies cultural preservation, rural rebirth, and the lineage of American graphic design.  But the Museum’s future is unclear.  What is the responsibility of artists and historians to preserve a dying craft?

Following each screening on “Typeface,” you will be able to visit our print shop in the Streets of Old Detroit exhibition and talk with printer, Ralph Rinaldi, who runs our printing press.
