Welcome to the Encyclopedia of Detroit. Here, you’ll find information about the people, places and events that have made metropolitan Detroit great for more than 300 years. Our goal is to build a one-stop history resource for researchers, students and history-lovers of all ages.
We’re constantly adding new entries to the Encyclopedia, so don’t hesitate to let us know if you think we’re missing a key entry. To suggest a person, place or event for inclusion in our Encyclopedia, please send an email to michellew@detroithistorical.org.
