Welcome! As an educator, you play a critical role in the future success of our community… and we’re here to help.
The Detroit Historical Museum is proud to provide engaging field trip experiences for students in grades 3 through 12. Aligned with state social studies standards, our field trips will enhance any curriculum.

There is a lot to see and do at the Detroit Historical Museum. Our standard tours will give you and your students an adventure by walking through the history of Detroit and the state of Michigan. We offer a variety of tours to choose from. We also provide trained docents and staff to give your students an educational and exciting view of history!
In addition, we offer two exciting enhancements to the standard tours, our Storyliving presentation and Historic Mackinac on Tour.
The 60-minute StoryLiving presentation features a professional actor/storyteller who will lead your group back in time to discover history through drama, group pantomime, role playing, songs, and creative problem-solving. The historical events that are offered as a part of this are the Underground Railroad and the Fire of 1805.
The popular Historic Mackinac on Tour, also one hour in length, features interpreters in full colonial costume that will draw your group into an interactive demonstration of colonial life. But you better hurry to reserve your space for this one. It’s only available for one week (March 8-12, 2010) and typically sells out fast.
Book a field trip today and experience history like never before!
