 MUSEUM TOURSDetroit Historical Museum
Standard Tour
90 minutes * Grades 1 - 12 * $5 per child (age 4 - 17) * 1 free chaperone per 10 paid students $5 per additional chaperone * Teachers FREE
Students visit the Museum's permanent exhibits, including the beloved Streets of Old Detroit. This tour showcases Detroit's history from 1701 to the present and will explore issues surrounding economic, social, and cultural development of the region. The activities that will be experienced during the tour are aligned with the Michigan State Social Studies Curriculum.
Options
- Souvenirs. Each child in your group will receive a special souvenir to take home from her or his field trip experience. Add $4 per child.
- StoryLiving presentation. A professional actor/storyteller will lead your group back in time to discover history through drama, group pantomime, role playing, songs, and creative problem-solving. Add $7 per child (minimum group size of 30 children).
Dossin Great Lakes Museum
Standard Tour

Your group will learn how ancient glaciers formed the lakes and how the lakes formed the commercial and cultural climate of metro Detroit. You will visit a real-life pilothouse, look through the periscope of a World War II submarine, learn how to use maritime signal flags to communicate, and touch the bow anchor of the legendary Edmund Fitzgerald. The activities that will be experienced during the tour are aligned with the Michigan State Social Studies Curriculum
