Cranbrook Archives

The Cranbrook Archives is the primary repository for the Cranbrook Educational Community.  The department is responsible for collecting, preserving, and making available community and divisional records of permanent value, the papers of members of the Booth, Scripps and Saarinen families, the records of Christ Church Cranbrook and other ancillary organizations, and the personal papers of faculty, staff, alumni and other individuals who have been associated with Cranbrook since 1904.

The Museum has 4 exhibit buildings: the Commandant's Quarters, The McFadden-Ross House, Exhibit Annex, and Gardner House. These all have different exhibits that depict Dearborn at different times and some Native American and military history.

The Detroit Public Library's digitized collections showcase rare and unique images from the Library’s Special Collections. These online collections feature more than 67,000 images that have been digitized and cataloged for public use. The Digital Collections allows users to remotely access photographs and other items from the Burton Historical Collection, National Automotive History Collection, E. Azalia Hackley Collection of African Americans in the Performing Arts, Ernie Harwell Sports Collection and the Rare Book Collection.
