The Detroit Historical Museums are proud to offer two fantastic locations for your next special event, meeting, or celebration. From training sessions for 20 people to receptions for 2,000, our unique facilities will ensure that your guests have an outstanding and memorable experience.
Detroit Historical Museum
Bringing the region’s three centuries of history to life is the mission of the Detroit Historical Museum, centrally located on Woodward Avenue in the heart of Detroit’s Cultural Center. With easy access to all major freeways and a secure parking area, your guests will enjoy a comfortable, safe event in a facility that showcases Detroit at its best. Permanent exhibits trace the history of the metro Detroit region – from its days as a French colonial town to its growth into the nation’s Motor City.
Dossin Great Lakes Museum
Situated on Belle Isle, the Dossin Great Lakes Museum is a maritime museum focused on the Great Lakes and Detroit’s central position along the Detroit River. This intimate Museum is perfect for smaller gatherings – from 20 person meetings to 300 person cocktail or strolling receptions. During the summer, guests have the added excitement of watching freighters and sailboats cruise the Detroit River.
