GLMI Fall Dinner

Join the Great Lakes Maritime Institute for their annual Fall Dinner at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum! This year’s guest speaker is Society senior curator Joel Stone, discussing his most recent book, Floating Palaces of the Great Lakes: a History of Passenger Steamers on the Inland Seas. Published by University of Michigan Press, it tells the story of an era, an industry, and a lifestyle—all regionally unique. The Northern Mariner calls it “a thorough appreciation for a maritime institution that has only recently taken its final bow from the Great Lakes stage." The event also features dinner, cash bar and a maritime-themed silent auction.
