Educator Open House

The Detroit Historical Society is pleased announce the launch of TWO new educational outreach resources for teachers.

Join us on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm for a launch party open house to learn about our new:

  • Teacher Portal on our website
  • Arsenal of Democracy High School Research Project

During this hands-on event, you can:

  • Learn about our new FREE lesson plan clearinghouse
  • Sample student activities from our popular field trip tours and workshops
  • Check out our classroom resources, like the Great Lakes Transportation Traveling Trunk and Building Detroit online game and curriculum
  • Learn about museum-school partnership curriculum programs, including Michigan History Day and our NEW Arsenal of Democracy High School Research Project

There will be plenty of food and fun, and you can take home a goodie bag filled with teacher resources, including a USB Flash Drive filled with our most popular K-12 Detroit History Lesson plans!

You can also enter a raffle for great prizes such as Detroit history books and field trips to the Detroit Historical Museum and Dossin Great Lakes Museum!
