Detroit Youth Day of Vision

February 18 2017 | 10:00am to February 19 2017 | 2:55pm

Join us for an interactive day of envisioning the next 50 years in Detroit using the lessons learned from the tumultuous summer of 1967. The Youth Day of Vision is hosted by the Detroit Historical Museum and the James and Grace Lee Boggs Center to Nurture Community Leadership. The day's activities, designed and facilitated by Detroit youth, will center around the events of 1967 - when Detroiters rebelled against police violence, racist housing segregation, and unemployment. How much has changed in the 50 years since? How will our generation create our own unique American revolution to end injustice, oppression, and violence in the next 50 years?

Admission is FREE, but participants are asked to register at eventbrite.com.

A shuttle bus is also available, picking up and dropping off at the James and Grace Lee Boggs School (4141 Mitchell Street). Seats are limited, so contact Dakarai at 313-784-7805 or dakarai.andre02@gmail.com to register soon!
