Adopt-an-Artifact

Support the preservation of Detroit’s history by participating in the Adopt-an-Artifact program. Adopt-an-Artifact provides visitors with the opportunity to “adopt?one of six artifacts for a period of one year. Proceeds from the program will be used to preserve artifacts that represent the proud history of Detroit.

Whether it’s shopping at the downtown Hudson’s department store or attending a game at Tiger Stadium, we each have fond memories of Detroit. You can help make sure these memories are preserved by supporting the Adopt-an-Artifact Program.

As a participant in the Adopt-an- Artifact program, you (or the person you designate) will receive the following benefits:
  • A certificate of adoption for your chosen artifact
  • A picture of the adopted artifact and a detailed summary of the artifact’s historical significance
  • Adoptee name recognition on the Detroit Historical Society website

These artifacts will be on display for one year at the Detroit Historical Museum next to our New to the Collection, exhibit on Level 2.
